Overall, their approach to inclusive strength training is simply outstanding. When I visited to check out their setup, the open layout and top-tier spring-resistance machines clearly set a standard that is hard to match anywhere else in town.

Best Reformer Pilates in Auckland

Best Reformer Pilates in Auckland. A beautiful new studio space with experienced instructors who know how to make you feel welcome, part of a community and most importantly feel that Pilates burn! 🔥 Will come back time and time again …

Welcoming Instructors and Strong Community Vibe

A wonderful studio with a very welcoming team of instructors even if you’re new to Pilates, recovering from an injury or need to take it at your own pace and strength levels, as they’re very accommodating to help meet everyone’s requirements to ensure no one feels left out.

Compared to other studios, I personally enjoy the community Slaine and her team are working to build with those who frequent this place or are interested in making it a part of their fitness routine.

2. Core Collective

Website: corecollective.co.nz

Address: Shed 7a, City Works Depot, 90 Wellesley St W

Contact: +64 27 275 2825 | [email protected]

Schedule: Monday to Wednesday 6:00 AM–8:00 PM | Thursday to Friday 6:00 AM–7:00 PM | Saturday 8:00 AM–12:00 PM | Sunday 9:00 AM–1:00 PM

Finding a workout routine that actually fits a busy professional schedule can be tough, but Core Collective makes it easy to start with a highly discounted trial pass for multiple sessions.

They also remove the usual friction of booking by allowing you to schedule classes far in advance without forcing an immediate payment.

Another convenience is that you can pick up uniquely designed traction footwear at the front desk to keep your footing secure on the machines.

I also love that if you miss a planned workout because you chose to go to a traditional gym that week, they generously roll your unused credits over to the following week.

You’ll have to be extremely punctual, however, because arriving just a few minutes late often leads to being turned away at the door. Furthermore, sudden schedule changes result in financial penalties under their rigid cancellation framework.

Pros

  • Flexible weekly session scaling
  • Early pregnancy session inclusion
  • Tailored late-pregnancy regimens
  • Pausable recurring memberships

Cons

  • Rigid late arrival entry denial
  • Financial penalties for late changes

Fantastic Instructor, Great Vibe, Convenient Location

Tried Core Collective for the first time and absolutely loved it. The space is amazing – clean, welcoming, and full of good vibes. Kate was a fantastic instructor, super helpful and supportive for a complete beginner to Pilates like me. The location at City Works Depot is really convenient with plenty of parking. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to give Pilates a go or looking for a great studio in the city.

True to Classic Pilates Principles

I moved to Auckland a year and a half ago and have tried many of the Pilates studios. It only took me a couple of sessions to see that Core Collective is different!

They stay true to classic principles and challenges you in the most wonderful (and shake-y) way. Clear anatomical cues, superbly welcoming to all and instructors who are always keeping a close eye on your form.

So glad to have found such a lovely studio!

Address: 2 Princes Street, Auckland Central Business District

Contact: 020 4092 3070 | [email protected]

Schedule: Monday 8:00AM–11:00AM | Tuesday & Thursday 7:00AM–7:00PM | Wednesday 6:00AM–7:00PM | Friday 7:00AM–6:00PM | Saturday 8:00AM–1:00PM | Sunday 8:00AM–12:00PM

Recovering from an injury requires precise attention, and SO Fitness handles this brilliantly through their specialized clinical branch led by an in-house physiotherapist.

Their programming is intensely focused on toning vital stabilizer muscles while expanding your overall functional capacity.

Speaking with a colleague who rehabilitated her shoulder here, she praised their private sessions that use unique apparatuses like the Cadillac and Barrel rather than just standard machines.

It’s also great that high-frequency attendees can even lock in their preferred attendance schedule for an entire year to guarantee their favorite time slots.

Just keep in mind that all purchases here are entirely final. So, you can’t secure a refund if your personal circumstances change.

Additionally, their digital system automatically promotes you from the waitlist into active classes. You can unexpectedly trigger a missed-session penalty if you don’t monitor your phone, so be mindful of this.

Pros

  • Affordable introductory group packages
  • Safe expecting mother accommodations
  • Convenient on-site sock retail
  • Intimate small class sizes

Cons

  • Strict zero transaction refund policy
  • Automatic waitlist conversion penalties

Lovely Instructors Guide Every Move Properly

Best Pilates studio in town! The instructors are super lovely and make you feel welcome from day one. They really take the time to guide you through each move so you can do it properly, not just rush through. Love the energy and the vibe every time!

True Reformer Pilates Beginners Class

Cute little studio, nice vibes and it was fantastic to attend a beginners class that actually bothered to teach it as a beginners class, each exercise was thoroughly explained and stepped through! I’ve been to other pilates studios that rush through, don’t bother about form, and it’s more of a cardio workout. This studio felt like it addressed true reformer pilates!

4. Shape Pilates

shape-pilates-logo

Website: shapepilates.co.nz

Address: 10/2 Bishop Dunn Place, Flat Bush

Contact: 021 129 3372 | [email protected]

Schedule: Monday 6:00AM–7:30PM (Holiday Hours) | Tuesday to Thursday 6:00AM–7:30PM | Friday 10:30AM–7:00PM | Saturday 8:00AM–11:00AM | Sunday 9:00AM–12:00PM

Accelerating your muscle recovery is just as important as the workout itself, which is why Shape Pilates incorporates specialized infrared heat therapy right alongside their traditional sessions.

Another perk here is that frequent visitors are consistently rewarded through a tiered loyalty system. With this, they’re granted free sessions and wellness perks based on attendance milestones.

I also love the excellent bundled memberships here that merge standard physical training with complimentary sauna access.

However, families should be aware that teenagers under 16 are explicitly banned from joining regular group classes and must instead take supervised private sessions.

Moreover, running late is heavily penalized, as the front desk will refuse entry and reallocate your booked spot.

On the bright side, this place is a great alternative to standard yoga studios if you’re organizing a team-building event or a weekend outing. Booking their completely tailored private group class for your inner circle is a must-do!

Pros

  • Multi-level beginner adaptability
  • Cost-effective introductory passes
  • Heavily discounted companion rates
  • Active safety footwear inventory

Cons

  • Strict youth age restrictions
  • Rigid late arrival entry refusal

Gorgeous Aesthetic, Warm Attentive Instructors

Absolutely love this Pilates studio! The aesthetic is gorgeous! Clean, calming, and so thoughtfully designed. The instructors are warm and attentive, and the classes are challenging but enjoyable. I also love the little touches, like the complimentary tea before or after class — it makes the whole experience feel extra special.

For those looking to truly test their cardiovascular endurance, their specialized hybrid classes seamlessly mix traditional sequences with high-energy jumpboard exercises.

Afterward, you can relax in their full-spectrum infrared sauna to accelerate cellular healing and melt away stress.

Punctuality is also mandatory to maintain the peaceful environment, as the physical doors are locked right when the session begins to prevent disruptive late arrivals.

Pros

Ammie is an Incredible, Supportive Instructor

I absolutely love coming to this Pilates studio, it’s become one of the highlights of my week. The classes are always such a great balance of challenging and fun, and I leave feeling stronger, refreshed, and motivated. Ammie is an incredible instructor, she’s supportive, encouraging, and really knows how to push you just the right amount while still making the class enjoyable. Her energy and attention to detail make every session feel personal. Couldn’t recommend her (and the studio) more highly!

Beautiful Studio and Varied Instructors

I’ve been to a few classes with a few different instructors now so I think I can give a fair review. Firstly, the studio itself is beautiful, the colour is stunning and it always smells incredible.

Each instructor brings their own personality to the session but if you head over to the website, you’ll find a little bit about each instructor so you can get an idea of what the class will be like.
