While I’ve had a lot of fun blitzing around NZ on my bike, it’s not exactly best for taking my family out on road trips. At times like these, I’m way more reliant on my truck to get us around quickly and in one piece!

Of course, a truck’s generally bigger than a car. This makes it perfect for taking families and groups of friends from point A to point B, especially if you’ve got a lot of luggage to account for.

That also means that it’s imperative to keep your truck regularly maintained.

Luckily for truck owners, there’s no shortage of truck repair services in Auckland to help you get road-safe and even get your COF. Before you go planning your next road trip, be sure to pop over to one of these for an inspection!

How much does getting truck repairs in Auckland cost?

Getting your truck repaired in Auckland can cost you anywhere from $150 to $800, taking into account the nature of the damage and any parts needed to complete the repair.

With a name like that, how could we resist? All Truck Fix was a common name on locals’ lips when we got to asking about truck repairs in Auckland, so we just had to swing by and see what the fuss was about.

What we found didn’t disappoint us. All Truck Fix offered a wide range of truck and trailer maintenance services, covering everything from electronic to mechanical repair. They even supported bodywork for all sorts of heavy vehicles.

These bodywork services caught our eye, as well as those of other customers. The shop offered custom bodywork and fabrication, which can be handy for customers looking to personalize their trucks in addition to the repair!

Speaking of customers, we heard good things about the actual repair services from the few we got to speak to. Customers were happy that the repairs were quick and timely, starting and wrapping up within the agreed-upon times.

Where a few customers encountered issues with the shop was with the pricing. A few mentioned how the initial estimated quotes could fluctuate on short notice before and after the service, making budgeting a little tricky.

We also noted that the prices at the shop for some parts and services are higher than those at other truck repair centers, so we’d advise consulting closely with the team for services that fit within your budget before booking.

Pros

  • Quick and timely services
  • Custom body fabrication available
  • Wide range of supported heavy vehicles

Cons

  • Higher cost for services
  • Estimated prices can fluctuate on short notice

Well, the name doesn’t get any clearer than this. Van and Truck Repairs got popular among new truck owners trying to get a grip on the ins and outs of truck maintenance. With that kind of reputation, we just had to see for ourselves.

The first thing we noticed among their offerings was their availability for after-hours services. They offered everything from mechanical to electrical repairs, so having these available even late at night makes them handy for emergencies in our book.

The team was also quite professional when we reached out to ask about their service. They readily let us know about their covered areas, types of trucks they service and answered all the inquiries we had.

Customers we spoke to also praised the shop’s prices, citing them as surprisingly reasonable for the quality of the service. This checked out on our own visit, when we compared their prices to other centers.

That said, their pricing can hike with replacement parts. Customers who have needed to buy new replacement parts for their repairs mentioned these being quoted quite high at the shop.

A few customers also mentioned encountering difficulties with booking COF inspection and preparation services at the shop, especially when it comes to the documentation.

Pros

  • Reasonable prices for services
  • Reliable after-hours services
  • Informative and professional team

Cons

  • Difficulty booking COF services
  • High cost for replacement parts

They explain any issues clearly and get the job sorted

“Highly recommend this business. Great friendly customer service and prices are great too. They explain any issues clearly and get the job sorted.”

If you’re the proud owner of a Hyundai truck, then there’s a chance you might have already heard of William Gill and Sons. This truck repair service landed on our radar after a number of Hyundai drivers pointed us in their direction!

That’s not all they offer, of course. They offered truck and trailer maintenance services for a wide range of brands and heavy vehicles. Their workshop could provide everything from basic repairs and restorations to even truck wrecking!

We were also pleasantly surprised at how responsive the customer service was. Online, we managed to get responses to our inquiries quickly and in detail, which we find convenient for customers who can’t make the drive out.

Where this responsiveness especially shines, according to customers, is in their breakdown response services. You never know when you might get stuck on a drive in a truck, so having them on dial is definitely handy.

We do have to note that these services don’t come cheap, though. A few customers let us know their full repair services could be pricier than at other repair centers, so we’d advise setting a budget.

We also noticed that the shop had a limited stock of replacement parts, so they sometimes have to order more. We’d definitely recommend consulting their parts availability when you book a service.

Pros

  • Wide range of support for Hyundai trucks
  • Reliable breakdown response services
  • Responsive customer service

Cons

  • Limited stock of replacement parts
  • Higher cost for services

Responded promptly and provided excellent service

“One of our service trucks broke down, and I contacted William Gill’s after-hours call-out service. Niraj responded promptly and provided excellent service, even going the extra mile by dropping off my team member at his home and arranging a tow service.”

– Mr. George Soe, Google Review

Their work is top quality

“Awesome great service, great people, been with them for a number of years now their work is top quality. Why go anywhere else?”

– Mr. Ray Henare, Google Review

Now this might be familiar to folks who manage whole truck fleets. Trucks are still one of the workforce’s most reliable transportation options, so we made sure to look into truck repair services that have this and found Transport Diesel & Marine.

The shop’s offerings ranged from autoelectrical repair to transmission reconditioning, as well as COF inspection services. What surprised us further was the shop’s additional support and parts for Isuzu trucks and vehicles too!

That’s not to say that the shop was lacking in parts for other trucks, of course. We noticed a large inventory of both new and used truck parts, which we find can come in handy if you’re looking into stocking up on spare parts for your truck.

Finally, their fleet maintenance services also didn’t disappoint, according to customers we chatted with. The shop could run regular maintenance services, making them handy for those looking into long-term solutions.

That said, some customers did mention that the quality of their service came at the cost of their service times taking quite long. Be prepared to settle in for a wait if you get your truck serviced here.

One last word of advice customers also left with us was to stay in contact with the team, as it can get difficult to track the status of ordered parts for repairs.

Pros

  • Reliable fleet maintenance services
  • Wide inventory of parts and services for Isuzu trucks
  • Large stock of new and used truck parts

Cons

  • Difficulty tracking orders
  • Long waiting time for services

We’d be remiss not to mention Truckstops when it comes to truck repairs, not just in Auckland but across all of New Zealand. Known first and foremost for their numerous locations across New Zealand, we visited their Wiri location to see for ourselves.

Truckstops pulled out all the stops on their offerings, with in-depth service plans covering all sorts of truck maintenance. The shop also offered a wide stock of new and used parts, making them handy for cases where your truck needs replacement parts.

Timeliness is always appreciated in truck repairs, and regulars were happy to let us know the shop demonstrated it well. Their repairs were reportedly done quickly and without much fuss, helping get trucks road-safe and ready within the day.

Some even reported them offering same-day services, saving on the hassle of having to wait for your truck repairs. No need to slow down or commute just because your current vehicle’s out of order!

That said, we recommend asking previous customers or locals for directions to their physical location. We had trouble finding the shop on our own drive over, and we can’t imagine managing it in a bigger truck!

Finally, a few regulars we spoke to also mentioned wanting improvements to their COF inspection services. A number of them recommended giving the truck a look yourself or getting a second opinion.

Pros

  • Wide variety of truck brands supported
  • Quick and timely repair services
  • Same-day services available
  • Service plans offered

Cons

  • Difficult location
  • Quality of inspections can still be improved
