The 4 Best Videographers in Auckland Who Turn Memories Into Movies

Portfolio: We checked each videographer’s portfolio and focused on teams with consistent product quality, clean colour work, and good storytelling.

Equipment: We looked for videographers who used gear that could genuinely deliver high-quality footage. That meant modern cameras, proper stabilisation, and reliable audio equipment.

Professionalism: We paid attention to how they communicated. We checked how they handled questions, whether they showed up to meetings on time, and whether their previous clients praised them for being reliable.

Turnaround Time: We checked how long it normally took them to deliver the final video, including drafts and revisions.

Imagine if we could pause time and hold onto any moment we wanted. We’d probably all be stuck in a memory forever.

Chaos aside, since we don’t have that superpower, the next best thing is to capture it. Not just a quick snap, but a video that actually brings the memory back to life.

This is especially true for those once-in-a-lifetime events, the ones you wish you could relive over and over. That’s where videographers step in, and luckily, Auckland is packed with some seriously talented ones.

We’ve done the homework and rounded up the cream of the crop. Keep reading to see who made the cut!

How much do videographers in Auckland charge for their services?

Videographers in Auckland can charge around NZD $3,000–4,500 for weddings that cover around 6–8 hours. For a typical corporate shoot, they might charge about NZD $800 for half-day coverage.

Business hours: Monday to Sunday: Open 24 hours

Website

Hollow & Co, with Josh mostly running the videography, is the team that makes your wedding day effortless while somehow catching everything you’ll want to remember.

We’ve heard a lot of couples saying Josh has this ability to be everywhere at once without ever being in the way.

You barely notice him, but when you see the footage, you realise he didn’t miss a single moment.

One of the best parts is how they keep everything running smoothly. Couples repeatedly mention that they never felt rushed or stressed because their team handled the behind-the-scenes chaos with ease.

It’s reflected in the final videos. Even if you’re the person who’s a big fan of a niche interest, your personality would shine through, but in an elevated way.

And if you’re feeling tired on the event day, they’re known to hype their clients up.

You have to remember, though, that Hollow & Co is very much wedding-focused. If you’re looking for someone to cover other events, they might not be the best fit.

Pros

  • Captures everything without being intrusive
  • Handles logistics and timelines well
  • Final videos reflect personalities
  • Energetic team
  • Encourages clients

Cons

  • Limited flexibility for other events

The Pure Productions team is a problem-solver. They take complex briefs and turn them into polished videos.

From TV commercials to animation, they clearly have the chops to handle high-pressure projects and deliver on time.

The fact that they’ve worked with brands like L’Oréal, Velux, and Toro is enough credentials that they can operate at a top-tier level.

They’re very organised and dependable. There was this project with a super tight five-week deadline, and they pulled off a full brand video that actually helped bring in new customers.

People also rave about the team’s technical side—camera work, lighting, post-production—it all comes together perfectly.

That said, they’re not the right choice for everyone. They excel in advertising, corporate, and brand-focused work, but we don’t think they’re set up to handle personal events.

Pros

  • Ideal for advertising videos
  • Great problem-solvers
  • Skilled across a range of formats
  • Proven track record
  • Highly organised and dependable
  • Strong technical expertise

Cons

  • Not suited for personal or casual events

HAPfilm NZ Ltd is like a Swiss Army knife of videography. Browsing through their portfolio, we were really impressed by how multifaceted their work is.

They cover a wide range of traditions and really understand the nuances of each culture deeply. This is what makes them strong. They weave these cultural details into their work.

From the vibrant energy of a Mehendi ceremony to the intimate moments of a Persian gathering, they capture it all while blending tradition with personal style too. This makes their videos feel unique rather than just standard documentation.

But their skills don’t stop at weddings. They also create commercial, corporate, music, and concert videos. Even in these, their storytelling is beautiful.

Their work feels alive, engaging, and actually watchable. That’s not always easy to pull off.

That said, they’re not perfect. The main thing is the price—they’re on the higher side. So if you’re on a tight budget, it might sting a little. But for those who want cinematic and culturally aware videos, they’re heard to beat.

Pros

  • Extremely versatile
  • Deep understanding of cultural nuances
  • Blends tradition with personal style
  • Strong storytelling skills
  • Professional and polished work

Cons

  • Higher pricing

From what our team found, Mata Films stands out when it comes to weddings. The big thing is how personal they make the whole experience.

David, the lead, takes the time to get to know couples and understand what matters most to them.

He’s involved from the first meeting all the way through rehearsals and even the big day itself, which makes couples feel really comfortable.

If you need livestreaming, they handle it smoothly too. One couple we came across was especially grateful because their family and friends abroad could watch the whole celebration live.

The videos themselves look amazing. Both the short highlight reels and the full-length versions are beautifully done.

They always capture all the laughter, happy tears, and little moments that often go unnoticed.

With their experience in Indian weddings, they also know exactly which moments are most important to capture.

On the flip side, Mata Films mostly sticks to weddings. They don’t really do corporate videos or other types of projects, so if you’re looking for variety, this isn’t the team for you.

Pros

  • Highly personal approach
  • Full involvement
  • Smooth livestreaming
  • High-quality videos
  • Expertise in Indian weddings

Cons

  • Limited flexibility for other events
