If you’re on the hunt for a reliable scooter retailer in Auckland, Storm Rides definitely stands out. They’ve carved out a strong reputation as NZ-owned and operated, importing and promoting sustainable personal transport vehicles for 8 years. 

We love that their showroom in Morningside makes it easy to drop in, check out a range of models, and take one for a test ride. 

One of the best things about them is the variety of products and customer support. They stock top global brands like Kaabo, Teverun, and Segway. They also offer strong after-sales service with spare parts in-store and an NZ-wide service network. 

We also appreciate that their website is updated with what’s in stock and those that are available for pre-order. Another thing we like is that the products are organized in categories, according to price and use, so it’s pretty easy to find what you’re looking for. 

They also have tempting offers like price-matching and extended warranties (up to 3 years), which we think add real value. 

Their website recommends using ‘web chat’ for fast responses, ensuring queries are handled promptly. Also, take note that they’re closed on Sundays and are open only until 3pm on Saturdays.

Their in-store workshop setup is especially handy. You can test ride a range of scooters, get advice on real-world use, and count on reliable after-sales support thanks to their service centre, with two technicians available for repairs. 

It’s great that they carry an impressive variety of models, from everyday commuters to more performance-oriented scooters. You’re also sure to have access to genuine spare parts and servicing, which means your investment is more likely to last. 

On the practical side, their central location means pick-ups or visits are convenient, and they provide low cost and speedy shipping across NZ. Plus, they offer a 12 to 24-month warranty for added peace of mind. 

However, expect pricing to be a bit higher than that of other retailers. We think it’s worth it considering the quality of products, accessible location, and strong after-sales service.

If you’re looking for a scooter in Auckland with plenty of power and personality, Honey Whale is definitely worth popping into. 

It’s important to take note that Honey Whale is a brand that’s widely distributed in New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, and Europe. So if you’re looking for other brands, it’s better to check elsewhere as the shop only offers Honey Whale products.  

But they do have everything from commuter-friendly scooters to all-terrain high-performance rides, plus, the products are pretty affordable, too. It’s good to know that they offer good after-sales support with a warranty of up to 3 years. 

We also appreciate how easy it is to browse and order their products from their website, plus, they even feature special offers with scooters available for as low as $499. 

The only downside we’ve seen is that most purchases are online, and you’d have to set an appointment for a test ride at their Rosedale branch. But another option is to visit their stall at Sylvia Park Shopping Centre.

Kiwi Hoverboard has been around for over 10 years and started off by offering hoverboards to NZ. Now, they’re a one-stop shop for electric mobility needs. 

They’ve expanded their lineup to include e-scooters, e-bikes, and accessories that cater to commuters, students, and anyone looking for a fun, eco-friendly way to get around. 

Their Mount Wellington branch lets you browse in person, while their online shop makes ordering and delivery easy across the country. 

It’s also great that they handle repairs and maintenance in-house so customers can count on long-term support for their rides. When it comes to warranty, they offer 1-year warranty for all products. 

Their variety is broad, from everyday commuter scooters to stylish and fun models for leisure. We also like that there are plenty of affordable options as well with scooters priced below $1,000. 

However, we have to take note of a couple of drawbacks. First, their responsiveness to emails can be improved as some customers complained about delayed or no responses. 

Secondly, it appears that their website isn’t always updated in real time, as some customers reported ordering items that later turned out to be out of stock.

You might think PB Tech only offers gadgets and electronics, but as the largest computing and IT retailer and NZ, we love that they also offer e-scooters! 

Surprisingly, they carry a wide range of models across commuter-friendly and high-performance scooters. Their website lists everything from everyday 25km/h models to serious machines like the Segway G2 Max that can go up to 70km/h. 

The fact that they have a nationwide electronics store means you’ll also benefit from frequent promotions, accessibility, and good stocks of popular scooter brands. 

While they don’t specifically specialize in scooters, we appreciate that their product listings on their website are complete with a detailed breakdown of specs. 

That said, being a large multi-category electronics retailer suggests that in-store specialist advice might not always match what you’d find at a dedicated scooter shop. 

Another thing is, they might not offer test rides at all since their stores don’t particularly specialize on scooters.
