Poynters immediately stands out for its extensive range of outdoor furniture, covering everything from dining tables to sofa beds. The store’s variety makes it a versatile choice for anyone furnishing both indoor and outdoor spaces.)
The store came highly recommended too, during our search. In fact, one of my neighbours bought their entire patio setup from here, and they’ve had it for years now.
What truly sets this store apart, though, is its selection of premium brands like Les Jardins. Their Copenhague teak sun lounger shows impressive craftsmanship and durability, while the Yolo aluminium lounger is ideal if you want something lightweight.
Aside from that, they’ve got nice dining table options to choose from. They sell both extending and non-extending tables, which gives customers the flexibility to find something that fits their space and hosting needs.
We also loved their Veneto and Nathan collections, both made from durable teak. They feature Sunbrella fabric cushions, which are known for their fade resistance and easy cleaning.
That said, Poynters leans toward the premium end of the market. Many of their teak and Sunbrella pieces come with higher price tags, so they may be the best option if you’re on a tight budget.

Modern Style is another store that stood out to us because of its Soho furniture set. We find the store a reliable option for customers aiming for a resort-style patio.
Beyond that, the store offers an impressive range of pieces. They have outdoor dining tables, sun umbrellas, and even bar sets. You can pretty much get everything you need for a patio makeover here.
We especially liked that their designs are not overly bulky, making them ideal even in smaller patios.
The quality of their products doesn’t disappoint either. Customers we talked to frequently highlighted the durability of Modern Style’s lounge suites, with some noting that their sets still look new even after five years of use.

“We had original Devon outdoor chairs made from Kwila in the 1980’s that had seats made from a fabric called planisol, they told us we could soak it in bleach for six months and it would retain its colour. We bought some of the red fabric to cover our (previous) wee dogs outdoor chair over thirty years ago to match that DEVON outdoor setting.
Whilst we had sold that setting some time ago you can see we still have the wee red outdoor chair that lives outdoors and has never faded nor has the weather depleted it. I imagine that original DEVON setting is still living somewhere today.
This new DEVON design we saw and sat in at the Arvida village in Nelson. It is extremely comfortable, is made from teak which is used on boat decks so that speaks volumes in versatility to me. I imagine this will outlive me.”
