When our team looked into Next Level Building & Construction, we immediately felt how approachable they are.

You’re not only talking to the project managers, but you can also talk to the builders themselves. We think this makes a big difference if you want to stay in the loop and feel confident about what’s happening in your home. 

From what we’ve seen, they shine when it comes to home renovations and extensions, especially bathrooms.

Manu and his team have over 50 years of combined experience, and it shows how organised and professional they are.

They use Buildertrend for their management platform. You can access real-time updates with this, including schedules, daily logs, and photos. 

They’re very transparent about the budget needed and even offer a free quote. However, we don’t think they’re the best choice for those with a limited budget. Their fees are a little higher than those of other companies we’ve looked into.

Project Builders may have just begun in 2014 by Keegan, but from what we’ve heard from their clients, they have something in them that rivals more established companies.

Many of their previous clients shared that the team’s workmanship, professionalism, and honesty make building new homes a lot easier. That must also be why many decided to work with them again, even after many years.

From what we’ve heard, they have retained that freshness while adding experience and wisdom to their work.

Their work revolves around modern, functional homes with a lot of windows for natural lighting. 

They always keep their clients in the loop from quoting to completion and act promptly on the job. One client even praised how they coordinate smoothly with subcontractors.

That said, if your dream house leans toward a highly customised or traditional style, we think there are better options than those.

If there’s one thing that SB2 Build excels at, it would be creating a complete transformation. They seem to have built quite a reputation for renovating.

We heard a story about a client who had a century-old home, in which they’ve done a major glow-up. Despite unexpected challenges, the SB2 team still did a pretty good job, satisfying the client.

In some cases, they can even balance out the new features with the older ones, so it looks seamless.

Their portfolio consists of tricky structural changes and large-scale commercial projects, so they seem capable of handling complicated builds.

With over 35 years of combined experience, it’s no wonder they have all this knowledge and skill. 

They’re also devoted to giving regular updates to their clients. One person told us that every time there’s an issue or a query during the building process, the team would contact them right away.

On the flip side, they can be a bit pricey, so they might not be the best choice if you’re on a tight budget.

If you’re building something as big as a house, of course, we’d want to recommend to you the teams that can thrive even when challenges come up.

Buildsmart is one of them. We’ve heard a client praising them about how they’ve managed to keep the jobs progressing, even during the flooding in Dunedin. 

One thing we found really great about them, as well, was how they stick to the budget. Once you sign a contract, the price generally stays the same unless you ask for some changes.

We also like their flexibility. They can design your dream homes from scratch, but if you already have an architect, they’ll work with them directly. 

Their 4-point guarantee, including tidy sites, also shows they care about keeping things organised and professional. 

However, they might not be the best choice for smaller projects. One customer wanted a bathroom renovation but had to fill out a long form, only to get a one-line response saying they couldn’t help. 

It seems like they’re focused on bigger builds, so small jobs might not get much attention.

Now, we wanted to give you some options with the companies we’re recommending, and Titan Homes has its own unique quirk to them. 

They build transportable homes, which is something not a lot of companies offer. 

If the debris and the whole construction site aren’t very much appealing to you, you have the option to order some of their pre-designed homes. It’ll be delivered right onto your doorstep… or in this case, your property.

They’re a big help to busy professionals, small families, or anyone who needs a faster move-in. 

Even though they offer pre-designed homes, you can still tweak the layouts, finishes, and features to fit your lifestyle. So if you like being involved in the design process, there’s room to make the home your own. 

That said, they might not work for those who are after luxury finishes or highly intricate designs. 

Some clients who wanted high-end features felt a bit limited. If you love being hands-on during construction, a fully transportable home might feel a little too hands-off.
