These 5 Best Glaziers in Wellington Can Fix Your Broken Windows Fast

  • Range of Services: We chose glaziers who can do a bit of everything, like window repairs, glass replacement, and custom cuts.
  • Pricing Transparency: We looked for glaziers who give clear, upfront quotes. Better if there are no hidden fees, so you know what to expect.
  • Response Time: We checked how fast they reply and whether they offer same-day or urgent help when you really need it.
  • Warranties and Guarantees: We also considered whether they stand by their work, offering warranties for both the glass and the installation.

A tiny crack in your window might not seem like a big deal—until it grows, lets in a cold draft, or turns into a full-blown headache.

You’ve got two choices when this happens: ignore it and hope for the best, or call in a glazier before things get worse. If you ask us, we’d prefer the latter.

If we’re on the same page, we’ve got you covered. We chatted with Wellington locals and even called up for consultation to see which glaziers actually live up to the hype. Here are the ones that made our list.

How much do glazier services cost in Wellington?

Glazier services in Wellington can cost NZ$100 to NZ$200 per hour, with additional charges for materials and call-out fees. The prices often vary based on the job’s complexity and urgency.

Wellington Glass & Mirror is a strong contender for complex or custom glass work, especially for older homes. They specialise in retrofitting windows without ruining the original look.

They work closely with architects, builders, and homeowners to make sure everything fits right—style, size, and budget.

A past customer with a 1940s bungalow said the team handled tricky window shapes and leadlights over multiple visits. New sashes were even crafted when needed.

They have a wide range of services, but retrofitting double glazing is where they really shine.

They’re the only licensed provider of the retroGLAZE® system in Wellington. Instead of tearing out your whole frames, they replace the old glass with modern insulated units.

That’s great for preserving the character of heritage homes while boosting insulation.

They’re also backed by the Windows & Glass Association NZ (WGANZ), so they follow proper safety and industry standards.

That said, we heard from one customer who had a window fail just months after installation. Even though it was under warranty, they were still charged $450 to have it reinstalled.

Pros

  • Great for heritage homes
  • Custom solutions
  • retroGLAZE® licensed
  • Strong technical skills
  • Trusted certifications
  • Wide range of services

Cons

  • A report about a warranty issue

This is a great company to work with…

“This is our second time getting some retrofit double glazing done. What we love is the warm, friendly, calm approach to the quoting, removal and installation. We had great communication throughout, and we’re so pleased with the final result. The team doing the removal of the windows worked so diligently during the worst weather, all with efficiency and cheerfulness. This is a great company to work with – we’re already planning the next lot of work we want done.”

Would gladly recommend them to anyone

“The job was pleasantly completed well ahead of schedule! Chris, James and his team were professional and fantastic to deal with. Even offered me tips when painting the windows! Would gladly recommend them to anyone else who’s thinking of retro glazing their windows.”

We appreciate that Kelly Glass & Mirror offers emergency same-day glass replacement service. They care about keeping your home or shop safe, so if they can’t fix it right away, they’ll do a quick temporary fix to secure it until they can come back.

They’re great for families with kids or pets, and also for business owners who can’t afford to leave a broken window overnight.

They also install pet doors. They stock and fit doors for both single and double-glazed units. A customer said they were fast and precise when fitting a cat flap into a new double-glazed door.

On the commercial side, they’re just as capable. Whether it’s shopfronts made with toughened safety glass or glass walls and doors for offices, they seem to get both the practical and visual needs.

We also appreciated how flexible they are. They do more than just standard windows, but also custom kitchen splashbacks and mirrored wardrobes. Customers told us their attention to detail stands out.

That said, a customer wasn’t happy about the pricing. They were charged full rates for a second guy who didn’t do much, and hit with extra travel charges. We’d suggest asking for a clear breakdown of costs before they show up.

Pros

  • Specialises in broken glass replacement of many types
  • Same-day emergency service
  • Wide range of services
  • Pet door installation
  • Custom work
  • Good attention to detail
  • Flexible scheduling

Cons

  • A report about a messy cost breakdown

I couldn’t have asked for a better response from them

“Gary and the team at Kelly Glass really helped resolve an issue I ran into with a recent shower install. I couldn’t have asked for a better response from them, and with Stu on the tools, the finish was fantastic. Highly recommend them and will absolutely use them again for any of my glass needs.”

Priced Right Glass takes care of everything from start to finish. They do the initial assessment, glass supply, installation, clean-up, and even aftercare.

Based on our conversations with past customers, Cody, the owner, is always involved. He keeps you in the loop every time, which is great. Communication is one of their strong points. It’s always clear, fast, and transparent.

We noticed they’re very business-friendly. Instead of working on their own schedule, they plan around your hours to avoid disrupting your day.

They don’t just do outside windows either. They can work on indoor glass jobs like office fit-outs or custom dividers.

They also do great in emergencies. One person had their ranch slider smashed two days before a wake. The insurance company wanted them to wait for a few days, but Cody had it all fixed the next morning.

Another thing we liked is that they don’t overcharge. Several customers said their prices were actually lower than what insurance-backed companies quoted.

That said, we think they’re more likely to take on commercial clients. It’s not a bad thing, but if you’ve got a tiny residential job and it’s not urgent, you might not be at the front of the line.

Pros

  • End-to-end services
  • Hands-on management
  • Excellent communication
  • Business-friendly scheduling
  • Handles both interior and exterior jobs
  • Quick emergency response
  • Competitive quoting

Cons

  • Potential wait for non-urgent home jobs

Highly recommend Cody and the team!

“I needed an urgent window replacement to be done, and Cody was able to do it the following day, and on a Saturday too. He did a fantastic job for a good price. Highly recommend Cody and the Team!”

I rang Priced Right Glass and within 2 days job was done

“Rang them on Saturday and had all work done on Monday! What a service 👏 I’d been waiting and waiting on other glaziers for 3 weeks, and nothing happened. I rang Priced Right Glass and within 2 days job was done. I will highly recommend Priced Right Glass to everyone. Great service. Great price. What an awesome team!”

4. Affordable Glass

Affordable Glass is flexible. They take on both small fixes and larger upgrades, which is handy if you’ve got a to-do list full of random window issues.

They’re also one of the few teams that will replace just the double-glazed unit itself without touching the whole frame.

People seem to like how fast they respond. A few customers said they got replies within a day, faster than a lot of tradies we’ve looked into. One customer even got a custom dog door sorted with a price quote in 24 hours.

We also liked how they cleaned up after themselves. We heard more than one mention of team members vacuuming, moving furniture back, and leaving the place tidy.

It’s a small thing, but it shows respect for the customer’s space.

But not everything we heard was okay. One person had a bad experience with a leaky window after a replacement. When they brought it up, the response from the team wasn’t helpful and felt dismissive.

It seems to be an isolated case. However, it’s still something to keep in mind if you’re considering them.

Pros

  • Flexible service
  • Double-glazing option
  • Fast communication
  • Custom solutions
  • Clean and tidy work
  • Free quotes

Cons

  • A report about a dismissive response to a follow-up
  • Business hours not stated

Their service has been exceptional

“We’ve used Affordable Glass twice now in two different houses, and the service has already been exceptional. Fast response times, quick turnaround for installation, and the quality is excellent, with prices that don’t break the bank. Highly recommend them!”

The team was so great, highly recommend!

“Matt was great, thank you. The window looks amazing, and he even vacuumed the bit by the window, moved the chair back, and took away all the glass. Really appreciate fitting me in today. Highly recommend James and Matt.”

Glazing 360 is run by James, a glazier with nearly 30 years of experience. He’s been involved in big builds like the Wellington Airport control tower, so we got really curious about how his team works.

Turns out, they handle everything— fixing broken panels, upgrading windows and doors, and installing glass showers and pool fencing.

From what we heard, they usually finish jobs on time and leave things tidy. What’s impressive is that one of their regular clients is an interior designer. He uses them for pretty much every one of his clients’ homes.

They’re also quick to respond, if they’re not busy. One customer said the team had someone onsite to measure a broken office panel within the hour. They even handled the required signage on the glass without anyone needing to ask.

It’s a small detail, but we felt like they’re very reliable, especially for commercial jobs.

Their free site assessment and practical advice (not just quotes) are also a big win for us. It shows us they really want to make your space better.

The catch is they’re very busy recently. But if you want a solid result and don’t mind waiting a bit, booking them early is a smart move.

Pros

  • Led by a highly experienced glazier
  • Wide range of services
  • Regularly hired by an interior designer
  • Fast response time when available
  • Attention to detail
  • Offers free site assessment, advice, and quote
  • Tidy work

Cons

  • Often fully booked
  • Not ideal for urgent jobs

Highly impressed with their responsiveness, workmanship and professionalism

“Glazing 360 provides an outstanding service. We recently had some damage to a glass panel in one of our offices. Upon calling Glazing 360 to help replace, they had an operative there within the hour to measure and order a replacement and even took care of the manifestation signage on the glass in the correct format. Highly impressed with their responsiveness, workmanship and professionalism and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them for any glazing issues.”
