How much do dental implants cost in Tauranga?
1. Gardens Dental

Gardens Dental might be small, but we find that clients can find a more personalised experience here. Their communication alone was excellent—explaining procedures in-depth, including addressing financial concerns.
In line with that, we liked that they developed phased plans for the implants. This considers the patient’s capacity to pay, as well as safely going through each stage based on the client’s health and condition.
The rates can be quite expensive, though, although the process already includes fees for the entire restoration process. We favour this, as it ensures transparency in billing, eliminating any room for hidden fees.
Just take note that Garden Dentals doesn’t handle complex full-arch implant bridge cases in-house. For these, patients are referred externally to a specialist. It’s another step, but at least, it’s the safest way to push through.
The best dentist even
“Wow, check out all these 5 star reviews! The service at Gardens Dental is fantastic. Fiona has been looking after my teeth for a few years now, and she is, by far, the best dentist I have ever been to. The whole team provide the right mix between professional and friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed which is just perfect for those who are a bit nervous. I know my teeth are getting the best care and I no longer dread going to the dentist. Thank you team!”

2. ER Dental at Seventh

Walking into ER Dental, we were impressed by how modern their facility is. They have state-of-the-art equipment in place, including laser-assisted detection tools and 3D scanning machines.
This level of sophistication in equipment easily translates into their offerings too, where assessments and consultations are in-depth and personalised.
During these periods, clients revealed that everything was clearly explained. Their full medical history was reviewed as well, so we feel confident in the kind of treatments they develop.
Unfortunately, a few patients found that their implants weren’t as durable as they expected. Consistent follow-ups would’ve helped with this, so we’re hoping they can address this issue very soon.
On the good side, we find that compared to other clinics, their rates are lower than most. They also accept multiple payment options such as Afterpay, Southern Cross, WINZ, and standard EFTPOS.
Best possible experience
“Thank you ER Dental. Dental visits can be scary, you and your staff make it the best possible experience from the moment I walk into the door and leave again. Thank you Candice for being so gentle and caring, my teeth feel amazing and I know I will enjoy the overall benefits in my health. Visiting a hygienist is an absolute must. you make it easy to come back again and again.”

Makes patients feel at ease
“I came to Dr Werner with a small hole in my molar. I was honest about my nerves and he made me feel at ease by explaining everything to me beforehand. I ended up having the hole filled and the result is great and very minimal pain (injection). Best experience to date with a dentist.”

3. The Dentists

At The Dentists, discussions happen face-to-face in a relaxed, private setting. This is something we love as it makes the clients feel more relaxed. In fact, patients we spoke to said they didn’t feel rushed or pressured at all.
They even offer a free follow-up consultation to review all treatment options before making decisions.
The clinic also earned our favour for their comprehensive in-house care model. Unlike other options that refer patients out, they provide all services under one roof, from implant placement to follow-up.
Technology is a strong point too, with state-of-the-art equipment like air abrasion and Biolase lasers. According to their team, this helps minimise discomfort and shorten recovery times.
On the downside, a few clients mentioned that they experienced communication delays when setting an appointment. To secure a slot, we recommend booking weeks in advance from your target date.
Excellent and professional
“My husband and I are lucky enough to see Graeme and he is beyond brilliant. Recently our 8 year old son Reuben was lucky enough to get his cap fixed by Dr Bodon Li. He was excellent with him. Dr Bodon put Reuben at ease straight away with his delightful humour and professional manner. He also did a spectacular job on Reuben’s front tooth, what artistry.”

4. Dental Solutions Tauranga

One of the best things about Dental Solutions is how comprehensive their implant process is. Everything starts with a detailed examination, including X-rays to assess suitability.
They also prepare a personalised treatment plan, with clear projections upfront. This helps clients properly budget for their surgery, as the procedure itself can be costly at this clinic.
We value that their surgical placements are done by specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (OMS). However, take note that they are external specialists, so clients have to navigate between different providers.
Fortunately, the clinic remains very hands-on with the process. Clients told us that the process was never rushed and they ensure proper healing before the final restoration.
Plus, staff appear to be friendly and skilled, so any post-operative concerns are dealt with immediately and with care.
Happy and friendly staff
“The were the only dental clinic in Tauranga to respond to my online enquiry when I need urgent dental care. The staff are amazing, everyone is happy and laughing and really friendly. They made me feel at ease, and I was terrified to have my tooth pulled. Lovely reception area with large comfy waiting room, the place is so clean and welcoming.”

5. City Dental

City Dental wins when it comes to having a clear and straightforward process. The entire thing involves at least 3 appointments, starting with a thorough examination and explanation of the process.
Even the post-operation support is commendable. They advise clients on strict aftercare, including dietary restrictions to ensure durable outcomes. Plus, their staff are easy to reach for any concerns or queries.
We realised, though, that they can be difficult to reach for initial appointments – even rescheduling feels like extra work. But for their follow-ups and ongoing cases, the service is satisfactory.
Another satisfactory area is their accessible pricing incentives, including new patient exams and X-rays that only cost $99. They also accept up to 18 months of financing via Q-Card and accept dental cover through WINZ and ACC claims.
Understanding and compassionate
“To Linda and her assistant, would like to say a huge thank you for my treatment. A very nervous patient, having sedation to complete dental work. Talked to and made feel as comfortable and chilled out as possible. Very understanding, with care and compassion. Thank you. Recommend.”
